Very Proud

Today I am very proud of myself, after a terrible job interview, bad toothache and a bad stomach, to see a letter I wrote to Woman's Weekly published. The letter was a thank you letter for mentioning www.readitswapit.co.uk, in an article about saving money. It is also my first paid piece of writing! OK so i cant exactly retire on £10, but that's not the point. I see letter writing as serving an apprenticeship on hopefully a long writing career.

    Arriving late so will probably have missed your letter, but huge CONGRATULATINS.

    £10 may not be much on its own, but added to all those other sales you'll make... I made nearly £500 from writing letters to magazines last year. Like you say, not enough to retire, but enough to fund the 13-year-old's birthday party and Christmas dance outfit - with a bit left over for the housekeeping. And I still get a huge buzz from seeing my name in print.
